Kaj je Lakeness?

Lakeness je ime, ki smo ga nadeli slikovitemu prizorišču ob jezeru v Volčji Dragi pri Novi Gorici. Prej zanemarjen

in neizkoriščen občinski prostor smo člani društva (Mladi Renče-Vogrsko) lastnoročno očistili in preuredili ter vanj

tako vsadili novo življenje. V projekt smo dekleta in fantje vložili precej ur udarniškega dela, končni rezultat pa je

bil nad vsemi pričakovanji.

Prikupno jezero, ki ga obdajajo mogočna drevesa, je tako pred dvema letoma postalo nov epicenter poletnega

glasbenega in športnega dogajanja na Goriškem. Iz naivne mladostniške ideje se je projekt razrastel v polnokrvno

atrakcijo za ljudi vseh starosti.

Društvo, ki ga poganjajo ambiciozni in delavni člani, si je z aktivno participacijo v občinskem družabnem življenju

prislužilo nagrado Naj mladinski projekt leta 2009, ponovno pa je bilo nominirano leta 2014.

Obiskovalcem vseh generacij želimo ponuditi celovit čutni presežek, ki ga ni najti nikjer v širši regiji.

What is Lakeness?

Lakeness is the name we gave to the picturesque location next to the lake in Volčja Draga

near the city of Nova Gorica. Just outside the town of Bukovica, there was an artificial lake

surrounded by dilapidated industrial complexes, trees, bushes and high grass. Members of our

collective (The Youth of Renče-Vogrsko Society) soon began to work at the then abandoned

and unexploited location. After months of volunteering and hard work, the result was above

all expectations ─ a picturesque scenery by a marvelous lake surrounded by mighty trees and

lush grass. In the past two years, the place has developed into the epicenter of summertime

music and sporting events of Goriška Region. A naïve juvenile idea bloomed into a full-

blooded attraction for visitors of all ages.

Our collective’s incessant effort to improve the local social and natural environment was

acknowledged by the municipal government. The society had won the prize Volunteer of the

year 2009 and was nominated for the same award in 2014.

The Youth of Renče-Vogrsko aim to further expand the existing community

and develop it into a new social organism, which will unite people of all ages, sexes and races

through music, sports, culture and fun.
