Tema 15. edicije, Translocal Underground, namiguje na kompleksno mrežo estetskih tangent in nadgeografskih povezav, ki definirajo sodobno lokalno zaznamovano, vendar globalno usmerjeno glasbeno produkcijo. Živimo v globaliziranem svetu, kjer so lokalne mikroscene povezane v superorganizem, nekakšen micelij translokalne podzemne kreativnosti, ki se razrašča čez vse štiri kontinente.

V središču tokratne edicije so glasbene izvajalke in izvajalci, ki izhajajo iz neevropskih glasbenih tradicij, predvsem iz Afrike in Latinske Amerike. S prihajajočo edicijo želi SONICA slovenski javnosti predstaviti prerez presežne elektronske kreativnosti, ki obstaja onstran zahodne imaginacije.

Cena vstopnice: 39 EUR. Festivalska vstopnica vključuje vstop na vse festivalske dogodke. S potrdilom o plačilu boste lahko na dogodkih prevzeli festivalsko kartico, s katero boste lahko vstopali na prizorišča ali prevzemali vstopnice.

Get your festival ticket for 4 days of exciting artistic events at the intersection of contemporary electronic and instrumental music, (post)club experiences, visual arts and new technologies. The festival takes place between 19 and 22 April 2023 at various locations in Ljubljana.

The theme of the 15th edition, Translocal Underground, alludes to the complex nexus of aesthetic tangents and transgeographical connections that characterise contemporary music production, which is locally inspired but globally-oriented. We live in a globalised world where local microscenes are connected in a superorganism, a kind of mycelium of translocal underground creativity that spreads across all four continents.

In addition to presenting contemporary regional creativity, the focus is on artists from non-European musical traditions, especially from Africa and Latin America. The last decade has seen the emergence of many new trends on the international electronic and experimental music scene, especially at the crossroads between folk music, contemporary club genres and trendy experimental electronica. SONICA aims to present to the Slovenian public a representative selection of contemporary electronic music creativity that exists beyond the local imagination. The festival traditionally includes various exhibitions, performances, premieres and talks.

Ticket price: €39. Festival ticket includes entry to all festival events. You will be able to pick up your festival card at the events with your payment receipt, which you can use to enter the venues or to collect your tickets.
